AB-1621- Firearms – Un-serialized Firearms – Existing law defines a firearm precursor part as a component of a firearm that is necessary into build or assemble a firearm and is either an unfinished handgun frame or a specified unfinished receiver, receiver tube, or receiver flat.

AB-2223 – Reproductive Health – Existing law requires a county coroner to hold inquests to inquire into and determine the circumstance, manner, and cause of violent, sudden, or unusual deaths, including deaths related to or following known or suspected self-induced or criminal abortion.

The June primary has come and gone but there was some good news. Lanhee Chen, a Republican running for State Controller, will be in a run-off in November. If he wins, he will break the long period where no Republicans have held State-wide office.

Governor Newsom released his May revised budget on Friday the 13th. Hope that isn't a bad omen. The budget is over $300 billion, with a surplus of about $98 billion. The proposed budget is complex but here are some of the items that may be of interest.

SB-1384 – GUN STORE REGULATIONS This bill requires all licensed firearm dealers to have a digital video surveillance system meeting certain standards, to have general liability insurance coverage of at least one million dollars, and to require certain training for all employees annually.
