OUR LEGISLATORS ARE ON SUMMER RECESS UNTIL SEPT 16
Recall Update: On July 21, CA Secretary of State Shirley Weber (D) released the final list of 46 candidates that qualified to run to replace Gavin Newsom in the Sept. 14 Recall Election. Click here to see the list. There are 24 Republicans, 9 Democrats, and the rest are 3rd party or no party affiliation. A reminder- Our primary focus is on getting every single person we can to vote YES on question #1: “Shall Gavin Newsom be recalled from the office of Governor of California?”. We encourage you to put your support and efforts towards that goal.
The following is a list of upcoming key dates and deadlines related to the recall election.
- August 16, 2021: Deadline for counties to mail all registered voters a vote-by-mail ballot.
- August 30, 2021: Deadline to register to vote. Registration forms must be postmarked by this date or delivered to a county elections office.
- August 31, 2021: Filing deadline for write-in candidates.
- September 4, 2021: Counties implementing the Voter’s Choice Act will open early voting centers.
- September 10, 2021: Early voting ends in Voter’s Choice Act counties.
- October 6, 2021: Deadline for officials to notify voters of signature mismatches.
- October 12, 2021: Deadline for voters to verify signatures in the case of a mismatch.
- October 22, 2021: Election certification date.
